The Flower Mound turf clause exists, and your house is probably exempt from it
Section 82-248(1)d of the Flower Mound code limits synthetic turf to outdoor recreation and play areas, which sounds restrictive until you read the scope. Section 82-212 excludes single-family detached dwellings on lots of record from the entire article. So for a homeowner retrofitting an existing yard, the synthetic turf limitation does not apply. It governs development that is inside the article, not your back garden. That is a meaningful distinction and one that a competitor quoting the clause without the exemption will get wrong in the direction of scaring you off. What does still govern is your association: Bridlewood, for instance, publishes recorded design guidelines, and we read the instrument for your address before quoting rather than relying on a general answer.
No dominant soil series, which is unusual and matters
Most cities we work in have one soil that accounts for a third or more of the residential footprint. Flower Mound does not. Sampling returns a genuine mosaic of Birome, Gasil and Konsil sandy loams with Navo clay loam appearing on the eastern side, and no single series dominant anywhere. That is a real result rather than a sampling failure, and its practical consequence is that two houses a mile apart in Flower Mound can need materially different base specifications. Sandy loam needs compaction and edge restraint or it migrates. Clay loam needs depth and drainage detail or it holds water. Getting told which one you have is the difference between a base that lasts and one that moves.

How do Flower Mound's watering restrictions affect a turf lawn?
They stop applying. Flower Mound limits sprinklers to two days a week — even-numbered addresses Tuesday and Friday, odd-numbered Wednesday and Saturday, HOA and commercial lots Monday and Thursday — and bans watering between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Artificial turf needs no watering day, so your lawn is not competing for one.
Is turf good for dogs in a Flower Mound backyard?
